      I mostly use questionnaires for parents and children to complete and camera’s to film how parents and children behave when the child is in pain. If we do experiments with healthy children, then we also use a “cold pressor task”: that task is a container with cold water of 10°C and children are asked to put their hand in the cold water for as long as they can. If it becomes too uncomfortable then the child is of course allowed to take their hand out of the water.

      I mostly use questionnaires in my research to find out how people rate their wellbeing, and to measure some of the individual characteristics like personality, resilience, etc. that might affect their happiness. I also talk to people to hear about their experiences and thoughts
