  No, it really depends! Some parents know exactly what works well and what is helpful for their child. Other parents find it more difficult to know what works well and can use our help to teach them what they can do to be helpful. So it is perfectly possible for many children to be happy with their parents reaction when they are in pain! Hope that makes it clearer?
