      yes, when I have a question I want to answer, I look if there is a theory that relates to that question that could help me anticipate what the answer could be and then design a study to test if the theory is right.
      Sometimes there is no theory available and then the study is called ‘explorative’ as we don’t know what to expect and don’t have a theory to test.
